I have to make sure the audio works as its working for others. Unfortunately the hotfix in this article is not available for download. This is one of the reasons I bought the laptop in the first place! Mail will not be published required. The other issue with “No Sounds” becoming modified is caused by my Total Recorder software, but there’s a Vista bug-solving update available for that which I hope will fix it.

Hi, remove the yellow marked device from windows hardware manager… Execute the hotfix again and install the hxfsetup from the driver package.
My Amilo came with vista but also running slow, installed XP SP2 and now all fine excluding this sound driver wich is now solved.
I cannot tell how to get the audio qudio with XP. I think the preinstalled version of XP Home is already patched with this hotfix.
After installing the hotfix everything was fine. A clue might be that on the sound mixer there is something called “name not available”.

Is there a way to remove the requirement altogether? The support hotline told me that this notebook and the audio driver only works with XP Home. It’s an input, so I figure that’s a recording device not a playback one, and again it’s an input not a speaker or headphones.

I installed the Professional version of Windows XP but the audio driver did not work. Too bad that nobody from the support desk can tell. Thanks to sl Fujitsu-Siemens support line for solving that without sending the laptop back. Auvio the way, the graphic card is working well on win XP Pro?

Is this a Vista bug? Anyway — The driver download is dead but the Microsoft KB article now links to a patch for Windows but the article itself applies also to XP. I have a amilo si windows 7 with Conexant HD Smart Audioi only get sound with usb headphones, no sound on zi or speakers.
