The CanoScan is still showing up in my System Information, but other than that, it has no presence on my computer. I may be wrong here, but I assume that pre-installed support means that the scanners listed will work with Image Capture. I would suggest trying the SANE drives, but before doing that you should preferably uninstall any Silverfast drivers and software first.

In my case I have tried to install the Canon drivers, something impossible to get as Mavericks does not support Rosetta. Could you help me? It would be above board when asking for help to provide as part of your post information on what you have tried.
Just managed to recognise my good old Lide 20 in Yosemite — thanks to you! Really great site, but since Twain is no longer supported in I have been desperately trying to get the scan feature on my Xerox WorkCentre to work with Mavericks.
I have a strange problem: At least this gives me hope that it is possible to control the scanner. It combines advanced CCD innovation incorporating a digital shutter, so scan canoecan are quick — as much as twice as quickly as the competitors.
Are there any other steps I might be missing? Canon has released official Yosemite-compatible drivers. If nothing shows up… try re-installing the SANE components again, and make sure you are following the instructions to the letter! The link of libusb. My canner is a CanoscanF.
