HDMI worked but no headtracking etc, my solution was to move my cords around till it worked and then just let it be there.

The e-mail exchange took a few days, but after that they sent the replacement immediately. Has anyone tried opening this thing? Camera will turn on when running demo scene so when demo scene is up try slowly rest eating both jacks on sync cable. Get the cheapest that is long enough for you, it will be absolutely the same as some “High-end” HDMI. The head tracking latency and all has been calculated specifically with this cable in mind.
This sounds like an issue i had. Sorry you are still having issues. To get the sync I still use the combined cable package, but you could run the sync cable straight to the headset as well. It’s showing up as “Camera DK2”, however when the runtime tries to install “Oculus Positional Tracker Driver” it fails with the error message “Positional Tracker Driver x64 Failed” and then windows 7 defaults to using ksthunk. Saw one where the rubber cover for the usb port on the rift was just stuffed in the box by the lenses, heard about another where that cover and the one that covers where the cables exit was completely missing. Want to add to the discussion?
Replacing the HDMI-cable : oculus

It’s the same idea as the Redmere cables you can buy from monoprice. Did they have you send everything back? Did you try a clean boot, and uninstall all other usb items besides keyboard and mouse.
Cabl in or sign up in seconds. This means that you can replace the HDMI cable on the DK2 without any issues, so long as you’re still using the original USB cable, since that needs to inject the sync and power.
Submit a new link. Display removed and the positional camera is off. My cwble cable stopped working with the rift but functions with my monitor- so I just swapped them round. How has it been confusing? Here is what I did for fixes. I wonder if this is why the camera is so flaky for me. I’d start with changing the HDMI cable for a regular one.
